McKesson gelling fiber dressings are sterile, non-woven sheets/ropes composed of carboxymethylcellulose (CMC) and a high G (guluronic acid) calcium alginate that include a reinforcement layer to allow intact removal. McKesson dressings are soft and conformable, highly absorbent and high gelling. The dressings manage exudates in in moderately to heavily exuding wounds and create a favorable environment for effective wound management. When in contact with wound exudates, these highly absorbent dressings form a soft gel which promotes a moist wound environment to assist in the healing process while also helping autolytic debridement.
Gelling fiber dressings may be used during the healing process of decubitus ulcers (pressure ulcers); venous and arterial leg ulcers; diabetic ulcers; graft and donor sites; post-operative surgical wounds; superficial and partial thickness burns and cavity wounds Highly absorbent Excellent wet and dry strength Supports moist wound environment for faster healing and low risk of maceration 4 x 4-3/4 inches
